Coming back was even worse - I did actually have to take things out and put them in my hand luggage, to say I was red faced was an understatement.
I think my biggest problem is the amount of toiletries I take wherever I go. Cleanser, toner, day cream, night cream, eye cream, plus the necessities such as suntan lotion and shampoo.
So how can I stop this happening when I head off on my jollies this year? The best tip my friend gave me is to downsize. If you can't do without all of your products, then decant them into small travel size pots. This way you can still follow your usual routine without the weight of full size products.
Just because you're going to a foreign country doesn't mean there won't be any shops - You could buy toiletries at your destination.
Lots of skincare products are extremely versatile, so why take three products when one will do?
Cell Fusion C Derma Blemish Balm acts as a tinted moisturiser, SPF protection and skin corrector.
Avoid taking lots of makeup, your skin will be glowing with the sun and heavy, dark makeup will just appear over the top on holiday and slip off your face. Stick to a touch of mascara and a slick of lip gloss to be a natural beach babe and avoid taking that massive makeup bag.
And lastly, don't pack too many shoes! It's tempting not to leave that fabulous pair of heels behind, but seriously, will you really wear them? If you're anything like me, you'll take 10 pairs of shoes and wear the same ones all holiday. Remember your feet can swell in warmer weather and there are some lovely flat shoes in the shops so pack wisely.
